Yes, you can start your course without the G1 license only for your in-class part. But for your in-car instructions, you must have your G1 license.

The minimum requirements are 40 hours which consist of 20 hours in-class, 10 hours in-vehicle and 10 hours of homework (Home-Link) for a Ministry-approved BDE course provider. The average time to complete the entire program is about 4-8 weeks. You must complete the entire course within 1 year.
Yes, you can use the instructor’s car to do your driving test, there will be an additional cost depending upon which test centre you prefer to go to.
Anyone with a G license and 4 years of experience in Ontario.
Once you complete the entire course (in-class, in-car, and homework), 6ix Driver Education will process your certificate. If you are certified, you can go to the nearest Service Ontario and request for a “Driver’s Licence History report”.

Yes, you need to bring a paper copy of your certificate, this is required for the road test. You are certified electronically through the MTO system.
You can go to the nearest Service Ontario and ask for another copy of your certificate that will cost you $12.
